ABOUT ABOUT

Calling all disco queens, rhinestone cowboys and Dolly Parton loving divas!

We're Eve and Alexis, the head chefs, owners, delivery drivers, accountants, dishwashers, IT department, etc. behind the LGBTQ and POC owned virtual restaurant, Funeral Potatoes - voted Best Meal Kit in The Chicago Reader, featured in Chicago Magazine's 10 Hottest Restaurants and Chicago Tribune's Top 100 Takeout. After 3 years of delivering elevated Midwest comfort food all over the city of Chicago in our trusty (and rusty) delivery van, we're ready to put down roots and open a cafe of our own where we can finally serve our community face-to-face!

Now we need the support of our tater loving community to help us navigate the daunting and expensive process of opening a brick and mortar.

How can you help? By dipping yourself in glitter and coming to our HOWDY Y'ALL DISCO BALL fundraiser gala!

WHEN: June 3, 2023 6pm-10pm

WHERE: See You Soon Event Space // 1757 N. Kimball Av, Chicago, IL

This is the first step toward making the dream of our own brick and mortar a reality and we're raising money the best way we know how - with a night full of retro glamour, queer pride, and the people that have supported us form day one.

There will be performances from local drag artists, a live dj spinning a gorgeous blend of disco dance anthems and country western jams, a glitzy portrait booth from Glitter Guts, nostalgic Midwestern inspired snacks, custom crafted libations, a silent auction with amazing prizes from other local businesses, a vintage booth from Her & Ziba and much, much more!

So grab your cowboy boots, dust off your bell bottoms and get ready to boot scoot boogie for a good cause as we gather resources to build a community space where we can expand our current offerings and feed more folks the food that we love.

Want to contribute but can't make it to the party? Consider purchashing a sponsored ticket so someone else can attend or donate directly to our cause here.

P.S. We want you to know that your contribution, no matter how big or small, will have a direct impact on our ability to create a vibrant and welcoming community space and create stability and fair employment for ourselves and our staff. Your contribution is an investment not only in our future but in a more equitable and diverse future for the Chicago culinary landscape as a whole. We hope you'll continue to support us and follow along as we keep working to make our dream of bringing cheesy carbs to all a reality.
